What is this, and who is it for?

Organised by Joanne Clarke (Programme Lead for Prescribing, University of Bath), this FREE, face-to-face conference is a chance for primary care pharmacy professionals from across BNSSG – and from across general practice, primary care networks, the ICB, and community pharmacy – to network and learn together.

- This will be a chance to meet other pharmacy professionals within BNSSG, and to visit various stalls from a variety of organisations, to find out what they have to offer in terms of support and development.
Explore Opportunities for Further Development
Engage in Simulation Learning
- In particular, you will cover a couple of scenarios based on consultations with members of the transgender community, covering best practice. We hope to be joined by someone with lived experience, to share their views and experiences.

Preparing for GP Partnership Course

Running Wednesday 14 September, 2022, and Wednesday 15 March, 2023

Becoming a GP practice partner can be a daunting transition, and it’s essential to fully understand the responsibilities and liabilities of being one. The legalities of partnership agreements can be complex; this includes agreement types, contracts, obligations, and practice finances.

In collaboration with the Practice Managers Association (PMA), BNSSG Training Hub will be again be running this FREE, virtual course for those aspiring to become practice partners. The aim for the session is to explore what it means to be a GP Partner, what to consider and how to prepare yourself and understand what development you might need. It’s important also to know the risks and what you need to look for. Here are the key areas the session will focus on:

Partnerships

Agreement types and what to be aware of
Contracts (GMS & PMS)
Company types and what to be aware of and implications
Partnership clauses around personal issues, such as parity, parental leave, and cooling-off periods, etc.
What are my rights, obligations, and who can support me? (BMA) & what can I negotiate?

Practice Finances

What ‘good’ looks like and what to check for in the financials — as opposed to actual pages in the finance pack, what should I look for?
Partnership salaries and profit share
Estates management
What are the major income streams in general practice?
Once joined, how can you maximise income streams?

Medicines Optimisation Training

Bite-sized sessions on best practice in medicines optimisation

Beginning in Autumn 2021, BNSSG ICB’s Med-Op Team and BNSSG Training Hub collaborated to deliver a suite of Medicines Optimisation Training sessions. These sessions covered a range of clinical topics and were open to primary, community, social, and secondary care partners across Bristol, North Somerset, and South Gloucestershire.
