Chin is a GP in Cheltenham with a passion for primary care dermatology, and dermoscopy in particular. She has been teaching dermoscopy since 2012, for the Cardiff dermoscopy course, Primary Care Dermatology Society and independently for practices and CCGs across the UK.
- If someone has had no dermoscopy education they need to start with the first session and ideally attend all three
- If have had some education then they are free to join any session
Part 2 - Dermoscopy for beginners: Thursday 02.10.2025Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â
This is an online follow up session from Part 1. Clinicians are recommended prior to attending the course should get used to handling the scope for several weeks in between the two sessions.
The objectives of Part 2 are to:
- be able to recognise common pitfalls when using a dermatoscope
- be able to describe the features of melanomas on palms and soles
- be able to list features which distinguish nail melanomas from nail haematomas
- be aware of potential pitfalls when trying to diagnose lesions on the face
and covers
- a recap of how to use the scope, benign lesions and BCCs
- Actinic Keratosis, Bowens and (Squamous Cell Carcinoma) SCC
- special sites – palms and soles, faces
- more about naevi and melanomas
- more BCCs including pigmented and superficial BCCs
