The BNSSG Primary Care Training Hub is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic GP to join our Senior Management Team as Clinical Lead – Education and Workforce Development. Please see below for more information and how to apply.

About Us

The BNSSG Training Hub supports the attraction, development and retention of the Primary Care workforce. We work with practices, PCNs, NHS England, the ICB, One Care, Avon LMC and higher education partners to deliver workforce and education initiatives that improve patient care and workforce sustainability.

Our current programmes include:

  • Practice and PCN Management development
  • Workforce planning and data development
  • Leadership development
  • Supporting Neighbourhood workforce transformation
  • Learning organisation development and approvals
  • Placements
  • Supervisor and Educator development
  • Apprenticeships and career pathways
  • Recruitment, retention and workforce sustainability initiatives
  • Core training provision for non-clinical, nursing and ARRS roles

The Role

As Clinical Lead, you will:

  • Provide strategic General Practice leadership and influence.
  • Represent the Training Hub locally, regionally and nationally.
  • Shape workforce and education strategy.
  • Lead key programmes relating to GP education, recruitment, retention and workforce development.
  • Develop strong relationships with practices, PCNs and system partners.
  • Support neighbourhood workforce transformation and future models of care.
  • Help shape future Training Hub priorities and procurement opportunities.

  • Is an experienced GP with strong leadership skills.
  • Employed in BNSSG General Practice
  • Is passionate about education and workforce development.
  • Understands the challenges facing modern General Practice.
  • Can influence across organisational boundaries.
  • Enjoys partnership working and system leadership.
  • Wants to make a lasting impact on workforce sustainability and patient care across BNSSG.

Contract           12-18 month MoU between the Training Hub and the GPs employing practice

Salary                An hourly rate of £85 for up to 4 sessions per week, working flexibly
