New resources to support student placements across Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire
Thank you to everyone who took the time to complete our recent placements survey. We greatly appreciate your feedback and the insights you shared about your experiences of supporting student placements.
The information gathered is helping us better understand and showcase the excellent work already taking place across Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire (BNSSG). By highlighting examples of good practice and bringing together useful resources, we hope to support more practices in providing high-quality placement experiences for students.
To support practices that host student placements, we have developed a resource document containing practical guidance and helpful materials, including:
- guidance on setting up student nurse placements
- useful contacts
- examples of induction packs
- ideas for student day trips
- additional placement resources and support materials.
We have also begun contacting those who offered to share resources as part of the survey. Our aim is to create a central bank of materials that can be accessed and shared across the system, helping practices learn from one another and build on successful approaches.
If you have resources that could benefit others, we’d love to hear from you. This could include:
- advice and lessons learned
- induction pack examples
- student feedback
- placement resources
- innovative approaches that have worked well within your practice.
By sharing effective practice and valuable resources, we can work together to ensure students receive the best possible placement experience across BNSSG.
