Applications open for BNSSG Newly Qualified GP Fellowship Programme
Applications are now open for the BNSSG Newly Qualified GP (NQGP) Fellowship Programme, supporting newly qualified GPs as they begin and develop their careers in general practice.
Applications are open from 1 September 2026 to 31 March 2027.
Programme benefits
The fellowship programme offers a range of benefits, including:
- 12 months of funded CPD time
- Mentoring from experienced colleagues
- Peer support and opportunities to connect with other newly qualified GPs
- Support for ongoing professional development during the early stages of their career
Eligibility
To be eligible for the programme, NQGPs must:
- Be within two years of receiving their Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT)
- Start work in a permanent role within a BNSSG practice by 31 March 2027
Funding and priority
Funding for the programme is limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
Priority will be given to NQGPs working in practices serving areas of greatest deprivation.

NQGPs interested in joining the fellowship programme are encouraged to apply as soon as possible due to the limited funding available.
