Many General Practices find the complexity of the education and skills environment difficult to navigate, and with recent significant reforms affecting qualifications, funding, apprenticeships and early talent pathways. For busy practices, understanding how these changes can be practically used to support recruitment, retention and workforce development can feel challenging.

This webinar is designed to provide General Practice leaders, managers and HR staff with a clear, accessible overview of the current education and skills landscape and what it means in practice. It will demystify key pathways such as the post 16  landscape including T Levels, Apprenticeships, and wider skills programmes, and explain how they can be effectively aligned to Practice workforce needs.

The session will focus on practical application, helping Practices understand:

  • What education and skills pathways are available now and how they fit together
  • How recent policy and funding changes impact General Practice
  • How practices can use these routes to grow their workforce, support progression and build future capacity
  • What support is available locally to help practices engage with education, skills and training confidently
  • Attendees will leave with a clearer understanding of how to navigate the system, make informed workforce decisions, and utilise education and skills pathways as part of a sustainable, long-term approach to workforce development in General Practice.
