For people living in our most deprived communities, the average age of death from cirrhosis or other liver disease is just 55 years old – 16 years younger than in more affluent areas[1]. This mortality gap is more than double that of any other major health condition, highlighting a significant health inequality.
We are offering GPs and advanced practitioners a half-day training session on Chronic Liver Disease. Training will be repeated at 2 locations, is free to attend with backfill funding available, and lunch will be provided.
Delivered by hepatology clinicians and local drug and alcohol services, the training has been designed to support GPs with early identification, management and care of people with liver disease, with a particular focus on alcohol-related liver disease.
The training is open to all GPs and advanced practitioners in BNSSG. The session will be repeated in two locations. You are welcome to attend whichever session is most convenient. Please note that the information on services will be tailored to the local area. We also hope to run a further session in South Gloucestershire / North Bristol later in the year.
