Funded by NHS England and NHS Improvement, this two-year programme is open to all GPs and practice nurses qualifying between November 2018 and March 2021, and is a means to support them during the process of transitioning from training into a career in primary care. Applicants must also currently hold, or be taking up, a substantive role within any practice in Bristol, North Somerset, or South Gloucestershire. We hope to begin offering places on the programme this August.
The initial benefits of the programme will include:
- 1 session per week pro-rata CPD time (it is anticipated that fellows will spend some of this time together as a peer group, some of it on a CPD activity of their own choice. The employing practice will be reimbursed for this time.)
- Clinical supervision
- Peer support
It is hoped that the programme will subsequently be expanded to provide:
- Training and support to develop a portfolio career
If you are a newly-qualified GP and are interested in learning more about this fellowship programme, please complete the expression of interest form below and return it to [email protected] by Tuesday 30 June.
If you are a newly-qualified practice nurse, please contact [email protected] by Tuesday 30 June.
Contacting us does not commit you to joining the programme, but simply allows us to contact you with further details.
We would welcome input from practice managers, PCN clinical directors, newly-qualified GPs and newly-qualified practice nurses to help us finalise the details of the programme, too. This would involve attending a small number of meetings over the next couple of months. If you’d like to get involved, please just contact [email protected].
